About the Designer: 

Gary has had a life-long fascination with working in wood. As a hobbyist, he taught himself through trial and error how to choose the right wood and has pushed the limits of time honoured cutting board techniques by introducing colours into the boards and using non-traditional woods.

Today he is a full time craftsman, focusing on functional pieces for the kitchen and dining room. He often spots pieces of wood that are inherently beautiful, or combines colours and textures of different kinds of wood in unexpected ways: light and dark, burled and smooth, knotty and marble-like.
